SAGGING SKIN
A lack of collagen due to ageing, or over-stretched skin from weight-loss or childbirth can leave your skin saggy with a reduction in skin strength. Reduce and delay these effects and regain that firm, tight and sag-free skin again with our highly qualified skin experts.
WRINKLES & FINE LINES
Fine lines are a natural effect of repeated facial expressions, sun exposure and a decrease of the skin’s elasticity. As you advance in age, these fine lines can turn into deep creases and wrinkles. A timely treatment for fine lines can reverse and postpone facial ageing for years to come.

Highest Quality PDO Threads
PDO Threads are surgical sutures with a 30 year-long safety track record for use in orthopedic and cardiovascular surgery as well as wound closure. They are a safe raw material that is completely absorbed by the body, causing minimal tissue reaction and tissue trauma. The threads we use are Mint Mono PDO Threads, which are Australian TGA approved and backed by clinical studies for their efficacy and safety.
Look years younger in next to no time
Depending on the size of the area being treated, treatment takes 30-70 minutes, plus 20 minutes of topical numbing to minimise discomfort. You will leave the clinic knowing your skin has been lifted and tightened, and will improve even further over the next few months.
Visible, natural-looking results
Threads create a support network for your skin tissue. Once inserted they provide an immediate visible tightening effect, whilst stimulating your natural collagen production within the skin. This then stimulates skin rejuvenation, bringing vitality and elasticity, and improving the appearance of minor wrinkles, nasolabial folds and saggy skin, without looking “done.”
PDO Thread Lift FAQ's
PDO (polydioxanone) Threads are small bioresorbable threads that are placed just beneath the surface of the skin to provide subtle lift and tightening where your skin has begun to sag with age. They also prompt collagen regeneration in your skin for ongoing anti-ageing benefits.
Treatment is non-surgical, performed with very small, flexible cannula.
Polydioxanone is a biodegradable material that can be safely absorbed by the body over time. It has been used in cardiovascular and orthopedic surgeries as well as wound closure for approximately 30 years.
At Rejuvenation Clinics of Australia, we use Mint (Minimal Invasive Nonsurgical Thread) PDO Threads. This brand is highly trusted and TGA approved for use in Australia.
We offer both the short 30mm and the long 50mm Threads.
We do not offer the longer “anchoring” type of threads.
PDO (polydioxanone) Threads are made from a raw material that naturally dissolves over time. The main types of PDO Threads are Mono, Cog and Screw threads.
Mono threads are smooth, and they’re used for collagen regeneration and a more natural lift.
Cog Threads, which may also be known as “barbed” or “anchoring” threads provide physical support, that is, they pull sagging skin upward and hold it in place.
Screw Threads are used to add volume to the face while providing some lift.
With Screw Threads and Cog Threads, there is greater risk of side effects such as lumps, dimpling or scar tissue. At Rejuvenation Clinics of Australia, we only use PDO Mono Threads.
Threads lift and tighten skin that has begun to sag due to loss of collagen due to ageing. They also prompt a collagen regeneration response in your skin to temporarily delay the ageing process.
Similar to a non-surgical facelift, threads can help reduce the appearance of saggy jowls and nasolabial folds (smile lines).
Threads are placed just beneath the surface of your skin which cause a micro-wound healing response in the collagen fibers, which kickstarts production of new collagen.
Over the next few months, the embedded threads are naturally reabsorbed by your skin in a process known as “hydrolysis” as your collagen production increases, resulting in tighter, firmer and more youthful, lifted skin.
First, a local anesthetic will be applied to the treatment area to minimise discomfort. Once the area is numbed, a very small flexible cannula will be used to insert the PDO threads just beneath the surface of the skin.
The treatment time depends on the size of the area being treated.
Small area – 30 minutes
Medium area – 40 Minutes
Large area – 70 minutes
There is also an additional 20 minutes for numbing.
Results may be visible for 6-12 months and the ageing process may be paused for the same amount of time.
You can complement your results with Ultrasound Skin Tightening, Dermal Fillers and high-quality skin care that contains Collagen Growth Factors and effective antioxidants, especially the deeper penetrating and non-irritating Retinaldehyde (Vitamin A).
You will need to take care of and avoid certain activities for 3 days after treatment. There may be some bruising, swelling and small lumps after treatment. This normally resolves in about 2 weeks.
We will discuss aftercare and what to expect during your preliminary free consultation.
We use a topical numbing cream and the finest needles available to mitigate discomfort.
It depends on the size of the area being treated. Prices range from $1,440 for a small area to $3,850 for a large area. We will provide you with an accurate quote at your free, personalised consultation.
PDO Threads and Dermal Fillers treat slightly different aspects of ageing.
Threads are dissolvable materials used to lift sagging skin and give your skin a tighter, more elastic appearance.
Dermal Fillers are soft, moldable gels used to replace lost volume and reshape facial contours.
Ultrasound Skin Tightening, performed with Ultraformer and Ultherapy, provides a much deeper treatment. PDO Threads are placed at a more superficial layer of the skin while Ultrasound energy can penetrate to the deep dermal layer of your skin to provide collagen regeneration from the deepest layers.
These treatments can be used to complement each other as Ultrasound energy bypasses the superficial layer of skin where threads are placed to target the deeper dermal layer of your skin.
